Taj Falaknuma Palace is a former majestic residence of the Nizams in Hyderabad, but at present, it is a luxury hotel. The palace spreads over massive area of 13 hectares. It is elevated at a height of 609 metres above sea level and radiates the refinement of the historic era. It initially belonged to the Paigah family and was later owned by the Hyderabad Nizam.
The palace was built by the Nawab Viqar ul Umra, who was the current Prime Minister of the Hyderabad city. The meaning of Falak numa is Mirror of Sky in Urdu. The palace was built with Italian marble. The palace stands majestically on a 2000 ft high hill. The palace was fully completed in 1893. At that time, it was the highest building in the whole Hyderabad city.
The renovation of the palace was done in 2010. Now, it is a part of the Taj Group, and they renamed it Taj Faluknama Palace. The Palace invites people to discover the lavish lives of Nizams along with their charming experiences.
