NTR Gardens is an urban park that is spread over 15 hectares and is located adjacent to the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad. The garden is named after the former CM N. T. Rama Rao of Andhra Pradesh. The garden was built in many phases since 1999. It is preserved by the Buddha Purnima Authority of Telangana.
The construction of the NTR garden was started after demolishing the Hussain Sagar Thermal Power Station in the year 1995. Then, in 1999, a part of the land over 2.0 hectares was used for creating a small memorial ground for N. T. Rama Rao. Then, the area was extended as NTR Gardens.
